Candle & Burning Ceremony (Letting Go and Transformation)

Preparation

Find a time and a place where you can be alone. This place will become your sanctuary. A sanctuary is a safe space where you can be honest with yourself and empower yourself. It is a place where you ask for support from the Universe/ God / Source of all Creation.  When you create a sanctuary, potent spiritual energies build, and you always have a place to retire for peace and inspiration in times of stress or anxiety, to connect with your higher self. If it is impossible for you to access or create a permanent sacred space, then find a space where you can be alone, center your energy in your heart, lift your thoughts high, and simply ask for the inner sanctuary to open. Your sanctuary is always with you and can be awakened anywhere, anytime.

What You Will Need

To Set Your Intention: Lightweight paper, pen or pencil, 3 white candles (8-hour battery-operated is safest), a place or table to serve as your altar, and a quartz crystal (Amazon has some inexpensive options) or another symbolic item.

Fire Ceremony:  A fireproof bowl lined in tin foil, lighter or matches, a small candle or tealight to set in the bowl, the 3 intention candles all lit, and the quartz crystal.

The Purpose of the Ceremony

Ceremony provides us with a bridge between our earthly, 3-dimensional world and our sacred spirit.  We connect or unite our physical and spiritual selves through ceremony.  The ancients of all cultures understood the power of our elevation of vibration/frequency achieved through ceremony and handed that wisdom down generation to generation.  Limiting beliefs of the matrix (3rd dimension) keep us separate from direct access to our higher knowing and the power we possess to be active participants in our transformation and letting go of what no longer serves us.  ‘Transformation’ and ‘Letting Go’ are the meridian belief points that support our meridian belief points of ‘Choice Making’,  ‘Contentment’, and ‘Spirit’.  These belief points are the energy we draw from to support our Power and Sacral Chakras. In addition, encoded within our DNA structure is the symbol for wholeness, connecting our consciousness with our higher self; the energy of Wisdom, Creativity, and Healing Power.  Our Meridians, DNA, and Chakras work in tandem, giving us access to the web of re-creation, the web of life.  The ceremony helps us connect to that web.  This flow of energy can transform who we are and what we become.   The dramatic impact of the ceremony on the subconscious mind shatters the inertia of old negative habits and patterns, opening the gate to healing spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically.

How It Works

The Candle and Burning Bowl Ceremony is a symbolic way to cleanse your life and let go of past disappointments, failures, and insecurities, and move on. Insecurity makes us look for what is wrong with us and others. It also makes us yearn for proof of acceptance from any available source with no regard for honest reflection or discernment, blocking us from honoring what is truly in our highest and best interest. Before moving forward, take a moment to pause and focus on your breathing. Notice the sensation in your chest as you write about you the transformation you are seeking. This brief moment of mindfulness allows you to acknowledge your feelings, bringing present-moment awareness before letting go of the past.

Cleansing our energy of the burdens we encounter allows us to avoid the harshness of judgment of ourselves and others.  Setting our intention focuses our energy and the supporting energies of the universe, activating and supporting our Letting Go Meridian for re-creation.  The fire in the bowl is a symbol and an action of Transformation (our Transformation Meridian). The fire transforms the paper from one form to another.

Ceremony

1.    Retire to your sanctuary.  Take 3 – 7 deep cleansing breaths.

2.   Thank your guides, angels, and your connection to All That Is, Source, Creation, God; those you connect with during times of prayer and/or meditation.

3.   Write down on the paper what you would like to cleanse or release from your life.  Place your request into a white envelope and seal it.

4.   Light the 3 candles so they are lit perpetually for at least three (3) days, ie, 1 candle per 8-hour shift.

5.   Place the envelope under the candles and the quartz crystal.

Safest done outside:

6. After 3 days or the time period you have determined, light the small or tea candle in the bowl, take 3 deep calming breaths, and take a moment to reflect upon your wish for transformation.

7. Ignite your envelope and put it into the burning bowl. As you release the envelope, take a moment to recognize this act as a crossing of a threshold, moving from the confines of your old story into a space of freedom. Notice any surge of emotion that accompanies this powerful transition.

8.    State, “I, (say your name), on this day, in this time and space called now, through the powers of Letting Go and Transformation, release my ties to the past situations that were not serving my life.  I request that only the wisdom gained remain to serve my highest and best interest from this day forward. It is with great thanks that I release the past and enter into this next stage of my energetic expansion and enlightenment.”

9.    Once the envelope has completely turned to ash and cooled, with a heart full of gratitude, spread the ashes on the ground as they are returned and renewed by the earth.

It's Important to Protect What You Have Accomplished:

Set your Energetic Protection (see my Energetic Protection Blog) or do a Grounding Meditation or Grounding Activity, and be sure to drink plenty of water for the next 24 hours.
